In the Molecules kit, students will discover that atoms and molecules make up everything we see, touch, taste, and smell. Atoms are like tiny building blocks and can link together using their linking electrons. Different atoms have different numbers of linking electrons and must follow rules to join together. The molecules formed vary in size from very small to very big. Examples are given of atoms following rules to make different molecules.
Students read a full-color reader with fun illustrations. The reader includes a pronunciation guide for scientific terms. Students then work through a short hands-on experiment in the student activity notebook learning about how atoms form molecules by making marshmallow molecule models. Students are encouraged to come up with their own ways to build molecule models. The student notebook provides question prompts for students to ask and then answer their own questions about molecules.
